Cosmos and Psyche partial book reading

This is not the only book that I’m reading at the moment. This one reads like a text book which I need time to gather myself for when I read it. It’s not a novel, though I must admit there are novel ideas within it that could change the world. And that is what leads me to place this bit of data on here.

Archetypes are an interesting subject for any writer. The best characters that you know in book, movie, game, and dare I say song, have some of them within. If you are ever told that your characters are “flat” it’s because they don’t exhibit these…or enough of these.

This is me reading them. First read. I stumble on the words and you can tell from inflection that I’m in the middle of learning too. You don’t like that? skip on, I won’t take offense. Want to learn more?

Here is the book: Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View. by Richard Tarnas

There is a prerequisite book before this one, Passions of the Western Mind. I’d start with that one. But teasers are good in this realm and my mind is blown.

There are secrets in here that should be shouted from the rooftops regardless of your walk in life. I’m sure of it! Listen and see what you think of these:

SUN and MOON

MERCURY

VENUS

MARS

JUPITER

SATURN

Archetypes that are planetary.  Seems I do know Mars! I can get loud. And Saturn is something to be revered; I’m a little scared of all that encompasses. Time to study.
