Quick assignment:
Brains Brains, grey matter French bread crusty crunch Chain links of a rusted metal fence Armed and ready forces Take over the conversation. An interruption, a pause A slight second of rest. She lays quietly to contemplate What staying will do Cost the Mission. Red and orange and a slight tinge Of blue Remain on her fingers As she crosses the divide Plunging into unknown territory Where are the alley cats? Will the guard dog chase? Can she keep running? A tree, tall and round Sturdy with stable logic Asks the question Would it hurt to stay? The leaves change and drop Landscape will be the same And yet not.

Mid September 2020
What a year?!? Outside shots before the leaves change…. [Pictures] Since all of us are driving less and we had those months of lock down, I wonder if our change of seasons will reflect less carbon footprint this year. Not sure if it is all related or not. At the old place, the bunnies flourished without human interaction. What of the rest of the ecosystem? Lichen, leaves, trees, woodthrush….oh my!

It’s not OK
“To be ignorant and simple now- not able to meet the enemies on their ground- would be to throw down our weapons, and to betray our uneducated brethren who have, under God, no defence but us against the intellectual attacks of the heathen. ” – C. S. Lewis, Weight of Glory I Just saw a flash of a clip on TV where a young boy was seizing as a result of chemical weapons used on his family by his leader. I Broke DOWN. It’s not OKAY. Not even close. The proof is surfacing and this leader will answer for it. If he doesn’t, if they don’t, our sons and…

Delft Blue

A Little Dusting
It’s been ages since I’ve written here. Those that follow me are either glad that they don’t have another email in their inbox or they are just patient enough for the next one. Either way, happiness is having something to say. Here goes: Molasses in brown sugar. Brown sugar in oatmeal. Trace elements that feed ….the soul ….the body ….and today, the mind. The same is true of honey, Honey.

Garden visits
Looking awful rufus sided to me, this female is scratchin’ for a lunch while her date waits in the wings.

Dark Matter
Here are a few quotes from articles circulating on the World Wide Web. “Dark Matter is … invisible stuff that makes up the majority of the universe.” {I don’t believe that for one minute. It isn’t the majority. It’s a little too broad a bucket, duh, it’s the universe! It’ll be proven, I predict.} “It is the Standard Model of Particles that explains dark matter.” “Its presence is [detected or] inferred based on its gravitational pull.” “Standard model is only part of a wider framework to explain the universe.” “Its some kind of material that has mass but doesn’t interact with light.” There is DARK matter but also… There is…

Planting
The oregano plant on my desk is beginning to get green. There are new small baby leaves and a shoot that is really too long, indicative of not enough light, that has stretched toward the lamp with new larger leaves. This means the roots are doing their thing. I’ll be able to cut it back, use the leaves, and still retain this plant. I’m excited about it. The St. John’s wort that sits in a coke bottle full of water is also showing many white roots all through the bottle. It is ready for dirt now I bet, though I’ll leave it in the bottle so that I can see…
