Thursday Seeds

Thursday Seeds |  Discipline Your own Destiny

Wake up early

Steal the day – call in sick

And just sit

Make yourself let go of it

You know it’s nagging at you

AND by the third day (long weekend)

You start to unwind and let go

And what flows out of you

Is good

And you may even have the perception that it’s better than the first day.

Because you haven’t learned that lesson

“Neither good or bad.”

And once you get that lesson

Fear no longer rules you

And your abilities are no longer inhibited.

You start to wake up early

Walking in the morning

Stretches as soon as you get out of the bed

Breakfast is consistent

Then, sitting down to the work

It flows right out of you

All you have to do is listen

To the rustling of the leaves

The far away traffic down the way

And your story is also on its way

The dialog starts and the paint brush is loaded

With the perfect color paint

You know exactly how to create depth

In the shapes this time

And you’ve painted these leaves

Over and over

And suddenly, your work is started and you get the ideas of what happens on your Monday and what happens on the Sunday. You are journaling, listing items to do next and you are reading about how the school trained artists use their sketch book structure to learn a subject of art and create a magnificent backstory for the piece.  You don’t even know what it’s going to look like yet, but you know how to do the leaves, how to show the world that they are moving just as nature intended. The trees bend to these leaves in a thank you that you can show on the page.

Every month, your list of books to read grows. You have homework. You have to pay attention to Netflix and learn from the documentaries there. A friend talks to you about a trip you should take. That it could change how you view those leaves you are dead set on painting.

So many people with drudgery jobs not understanding how you can do it. They are jealous and admonishing you at the same time. They don’t understand. It’s not theirs to understand. They haven’t put in the same kind of work. It’s not conventional and you don’t learn it in school per say and yet the work is important. Why?

Your DISCIPLINE created art can inspire the masses to shift their mindset. That is Destiny.

To understand the damage that is done with leaf blowers. That the sound frequency of them is killing a human’s basic need to connect with nature, that it could give them cancer if they don’t put them down. It’s also not helping the soil build nutrients that science is yet to completely capture. The plants, fungi, trees, bugs, all work in a symphony of push pull that we barely understand.

Mulch yourself. (By the way, mulch has leaves)  Surround yourself with good thoughts and good work. You have no idea what sprouts out. Sometimes you surprise yourself. “That’s a good idea and it came from me?”  Being present and listening to your surroundings brings in the best ideas. The other value to letting go is that it gives your brain time to process your challenges or problems. Suddenly solutions or pathways show up that you hadn’t imagined before. New colors and shades come off the pallet and on to the page. Your sketchbook has a different meaning than it did before.

The other important thing that happens is that you are now free to ask yourself what you want. And amazing things come from that if you allow it. My wants came out from an extremely high level that I am still figuring how how to drill down into with goals and projects. The other thing is that with a mission statement and these things that you want, directions that fall outside of those wants, no longer keep your attention. You start to realize how much those things may even now WANT your attention. (It’s possible that it’s a form of resistance to keep you from your true purpose.)

With discipline and a high level road map, it’s a whole lot harder for resistance to get in your way. You level up and resistance does too. The struggle is real. And it won’t quit until you are dead. Plan on it being that way and don’t disappoint yourself into some retirement bliss. Because if you let go, your health starts to decline, you can’t do the things you want to do, etc.

Keep to a schedule that you alone can modify, and you have something.  Did I say you alone can modify? Don’t discount your spiritual values and training. If you believe in a higher power, you will be amazed at the help that will show up at your door. Your phone will ring with good help that keeps you out of trouble.

What are you doing today?

What do you want?
