Klean Kanteen just in!

After reading Crunchy Domestic Goddesses Blog post “Getting kids on the bottle – water bottle, that is” and then doing a little bit of research for my own blog post “Plastic Recycle numbers, do you read plastic labels too?“,  I found that my beloved Nalgene water bottles could be causing harm to my family! ACK!

Bisphenol A, a compound in hard, clear polycarbonate plastics that mimics the effects of estrogen, has raised particular concern because it interferes with hormone levels and cell signaling systems.

While it is important to mention that Nalgene no longer sells water bottles with BPA, they were not diligent in contacting customers to let them know of the change in product. We have Nalgene bottles that date back to the mid to early ’90s!

These new found facts have prompted my water bottle order for Klean Kanteen. We are trying some with the standard screw on top and the water bottle dispenser as well. I send a water bottle everyday in my lil one’s lunch box.

If you haven’t checked your cabinet for the kind of water bottles you use, it’s a really good idea!  There’s good info on that first article of the safe kinds to look for that fit with your lifestyle.

Happy Washing!

I have those for each of my two daughters with the sport tops. They love them, I can get them to drink their water and we take them with in the car whereever we go. Now I just need to get one for myself and I plan on buying them for my nephews. I love the fact that of all the new metal bottles available now these have a huge opening for ease of cleaning and their stainless. Now days with all the talk of Alum. toxicity I’ll stay with stainless. These are the best!
