Foccaccia – Our Homemade bread
Original Recipe courtesy Zito’s Bakery, New York
Modified by Reggie Mowrer

2 cups water
1 Tablespoon salt
2Packages of yeast or 1 1/4 Tablespoon Bread Machine yeast
3 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 ounce olive oil
1 or 2 Tablespoons dried Rosemary ( we use fresh rosemary from the yard cut by the kid)
1 teaspoon ground pepper
Toppings: rosemary, fresh tomato and basil, tomato sauce and cheese (we top with kosher salt)
Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add the other ingredients and mix well. Put in a lightly oiled bowl and loosely cover with plastic wrap. Set aside and let rest for about 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Remove dough from the bowl and roll out on a lightly floured surface. Spread into a 16 by 18-inch sheet pan and dock all over with the tines of a fork. ( We just use our fingers so it doesn’t loose it’s rise so much.) Spread toppings. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until the bottom is nicely browned and the toppings have cooked.

Yield: 1 full 16 by 18-inch sheet
Prep Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 35 minutes

Are you still here? Good! These recipes are just fun to make in our household. They mean there is going to be good food and festivities regardless of the occasion. They can cheer you up the saddest and most frustrating of times.  And while eating them is great, It becomes important to find a load of test subjects. A soap making company owner friend of mine calls her skin care test subjects, guinea chicks. It’s a cute name!  (she’s the owner of Cactus and Ivy)  Anyhow if you are looking to wow folks at a party that understand good food, these are good recipes.  As a company owner, the same is true of soap and other skin care products. They must be formulated to a “wow” status.  That’s best done when you have good testing folk that realize you have a thick skin and just want to make the product better. They give Dr. Flower feedback! You are always invited to add feedback on the website, e-mail or pick up the phone and call. You could help us by asking for customized orders that could become our next best selling line! Help us help you and step up with your voice and don’t be shy!

Happy Washing! ~ and good cooking
