Martini Art of Passion
I admit it. I’m in love with Etsy! I’m in love with the idea of a community of handmade artists that thrive on making something of basic ingredients. It’s what drew me to soapmaking and beyond. It’s a milestone on my own path’s journey and it’s all over this blog. Etsy is one of many such communities but for some reason, I tend to go back there. Sometimes you meet up with an artist and you never hear or see them again say at artist markets, random stop on vacation, etc. The neat thing about etsy is that you can easily get back to that artist you bought…

I went to the market and didn't take one picture!
Yesterday afternoon found me headed south toward town to go to the Norcross Farmer’s Market that is held every Tuesday at 4pm-8pm until end of October. This was my first time to this market. I’m in love with the fact that these are popping up all over the city and that the attendance is increasing for both customers and vendors. If you’ve seen my blog posts on food as of late, this farmer’s market culture has the potential to bring our food chain back in balance one farmer’s market at a time… What it’s going to take is a community, vendors, and customers. It’ll be an ongoing process that has the potential…

Do what you say you are going to do…
Business Rule #1 – Scratch that! Life Rule #2 – Do what you say you are going to do! Sometimes we forget to do this. Especially if the “thing” we say we are going to do is not written down. My example in this post was written down earlier this year. The 2nd Day of this year to be precise! I had a blog post here on Dr. Flower about Martini glasses. Several folks dropped in to comment their thoughts. (psstt…I LOVE it when you guys do that!) Anne-Marie dropped in to say I’d won the random comment contest! yippe I said… and a martini glass for you on your…

A little Melt and Pour Soap Activity
With some of the tools that we acquired at the Georgia Spring Fling Soap And Candle Gathering, we have been doing a little bit of experimenting with Melt and Pour soap. We scented these with peach fragrance. 😉 Little one’s favorite part was painting the gold on top. See what you think! Orders this first week of June MIGHT include a random sample soap! Happy Washing! ~Regina

never mind the gas price – can you get it?
It’s been a bazaar few weeks since Ike left Texas here in Georgia. Energy crisis here we come! Most folks are struggling to find a place to buy gas, never mind the prices. I heard a snippet on the tv that there was a station selling gas at the lovely price of $8.00 per gallon. I hope that folks swooped over that station owner with the threat of gouging fraud! Anyhoo…Here’s to a better week this week regarding energy! Here’s a little link from 11alive news that might help you decide if the trip you are taking is worth it and a list of locations near you that ARE selling…

Entering a contest:Soap is Life, Art, and Science
Soap is Life, Art, and Science! I’ve made soap for a few years now (2001) but it hasn’t been since I’ve started Dr. Flower’s Essentials, Inc. that I’ve found some interesting, informative, and all around neat people in this independent industry. Marr Williams is among the top of that list with her blog (laugh with me now) Smellychicksonline.com. One of Marr’s features on her blog, besides informative information about soap making and small business, is Soap Porn! It’s a creative way to have shout outs for artistic, interesting, not your average soap bars. If you look at her site today, there’s a new one that I love, button soap bar…

Too Cute! – Make Tea, Not War!
This just made me laugh out loud! I happened upon a store that carries another neat gadget called wirepod and found this one! I’m a tea fanatic! It can’t be from a bag either, bulk tea is just better! Anyhoo…stick ‘um up! Let’s make tea, not war! Wirepod’s website said that Heliotrope – in Decatur, Ga carries this device. It’s not on their website 😮 Does that mean they are sold out? Okay! Enough shoppin’ back to soaping! ~Happy Washing Regina
