    Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint: You knew it was a good thing. Did you also know why? Some of these facts will surprise you. History: Peppermint is a cross between water mint and spearmint and is native to Europe.  Peppermint specifically was first cultivated in England in the late seventeenth century.  Historically, the herb has been known for its medicinal uses. Hence it is often termed as the world’s oldest medicine. Mint plants such as peppermint and spearmint have a long history of medicinal use, dating to ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In fact, dried peppermint leaves were found in Egyptian pyramids dating back to 1000 B.C. The ancient Greeks and Romans valued it…

Hey there! I did make a few more candles this weekend that will be featured on the website! These are of the soy wax variety.  All natural soy wax has become a cost effective choice for those looking for a natural candle that is also sustainable. See some of the candles I have featured: Soy wax tarts – What is a candle tart you ask? It’s a bit of scented wax that goes on the top of a candle burner that is either driven with a tea light to heat it or by an electric source much like a cup warmer. Hoschton Scarecrow Record!

Well! Looks like the folks in my zipcode have done it! It’s not official but it will be soon that Hoschton has the Guiness Book of World records for the most scarecrows in one zipcode! To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to make a scarecrow soap!  Now I’m a basics kind of soapmaker. I place herbs and essential oils in my regular ol’ wooden molds and then cut with a crinkle knife for the most part! I’ve not spent a lot of time with Melt and pour type soap making.  I’ve made friends with some soapmakers that have it to an art form.  If you don’t believe me,…

How To Agree, Disagree & Remain Friends On Twitter: 3 Unique Perspectives. [Part 3]

Michelle sarvasoap’s perspective on how to agree, disagree and remain friends on Twitter We’re all using Twitter to achieve our goals.  Camaraderie, networking, and promotion are the top three for me.   From my perspective, camaraderie must come first.  If we don’t have that, how are the other two even possible? We all come from different backgrounds, believe in different things, have different areas of expertise as well as inexperience.  But we all are working diligently–much of our work utterly invisible to the Twittersphere–on things we only have 140 characters to “plug”.  Tweets need to pack a punch in order to get noticed. I’m a meditation instructor and yoga therapist; as…

How To Agree, Disagree & Remain Friends On Twitter: 3 Unique Perspectives. [Part 1]

We had a heated exchange on Twitter yesterday- Post is long but worth the read! 😀 Regina – drflower’s perspective on how to agree, disagree and remain friends on Twitter It’s NOT always simple to get your point across in 140 characters per post. Especially when the stakes are high. We are talking about our environment. Keeping cool every sec on this issue is just plain tough!  Here is what was said: sarvasoap Have ordered samples of new packaging materials, looking forward to trying them out.
