    Rosemary

She yanks the beige flowered towel, Down from the rack it tumbles to the floor. Scowling, she vows to place it, Within the closet, deep. Washing sweet soil covered hands, Reaching for a safe towel, She considers the finished act, Honor for him, gone now. Rosemary small with potential for Robust growth of herbie memories, Gently placed in the soil To remember when synapses fail. Water, sun, soil, love; Rebirth; new form. ~Regina Holt

    Field Day

In her purple Field Day shirt and white tennis shoes, Her hair pulled up in a pony tail, From a hurried morning ready, She stands there with anger in her face. “How dare you just sit there?!” She continues on to explain, “I don’t care if you think it was my fault, I know it was yours.” “Why would you not do it?” “I was counting on you!” “We have nothing now, It’s your fault, not mine.” With crossed arms, she stares it down, Indignant, wanting an answer. There is no answer, Only oblivious kids of her class, Waiting their turn with different reason, They wish to climb on it.…

    You know it’s fall when…

Walking the dogs today, I saw the cute little baby squirrel peeking out of the hole in the old oak tree again. What was even better than the last time is that he was pushed back down by his little brother who climbed on his head to see out too! It was a split second of priceless hilarity. I loved it. I could tell the difference between these baby squirrels because this second baby was smaller and a little lighter in color. 🙂

    Gatsby…

Is this not a famous quote or what? (521 highlights on the Kindle…when relatively speaking, few are technology driven to read this one…that number is small.) He smiled understandingly – much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced – or seemed to face – the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself,…

    Cosmic Conversation

“Why are they coming to you, Mars? You would think with their constant obsession with tits and curves of a woman, that they would be more interested in the likes of my place instead.” “They aren’t coming to your house. You want to know why? Because they are a little bit scared of what you would do. You might harbor something that none of them are really ready for.” “Me? Harbor something? Like these mountains with cascading waterfalls? Now, tell me why I would do a strange thing like that?” “It’s not water that frightens them, Venus. You know that.” “What is it then?” “Alien beings.” “Aliens? Seriously?” “Yes, seriously.…

    Homecoming

Sentiment, Laughter, humor History, HIS story. Remembering stories rarely told With a trigger or a jolt to the brain.   Singing next to a voice from the past, Watching the next generation interact, Swapping tall tales or recipes, Being patient for the appearance Of an old memory or name on the tip of a tongue.   Is the hair the same? Rarely Same age? Never Same dress? Sometimes Same smile? Almost always   A journey with sections walked or ridden, Sharing of faith with both smiles and tears. Baptisms, Mission Trips, Graduations, Weddings, Funerals and Fellowship dinners. All these things stones in the road, that might be looked at once…

    Choir Tradition

Sing a joyful noise unto the Lord, Do it with feeling, Drop the “R’s” and drop the jaw, Remember the poignant words That teach us all of His love, Regardless of your seat in the sacred room.   Reverence, tone, inspiration, hard work, Nothing but your best and a little bit more, Prayers spoken, sung, whispered, thought, On one side of an enriched colorful music filled experience.   Might we find some that need a cough drop, That need a hug, That need humor of gag? Aren’t we all blessed to have those to raise our voices with? We sit or stand with those that cover our booboo’s, Those that…
