Entering a contest:Soap is Life, Art, and Science

Soap is Life, Art, and Science! I’ve made soap for a few years now (2001) but it hasn’t been since I’ve started Dr. Flower’s Essentials, Inc. that I’ve found some interesting, informative, and all around neat people in this independent industry.

Marr Williams is among the top of that list with her blog (laugh with me now) Smellychicksonline.com. One of Marr’s features on her blog, besides informative information about soap making and small business, is Soap Porn! It’s a creative way to have shout outs for artistic, interesting, not your average soap bars. If you look at her site today, there’s a new one that I love, button soap bar by HelloCrafty.

Smelly chick’s online site is currently sponsoring a contest for banner design! If you are a small business like Dr. Flower, consider entering the contest! Who can’t use an update on banner design? Small thing to do get a neat banner. 😉

My own bars are more practical in nature but to be sure, these pictures are VERY inspiring and perhaps in the next few months, I’ll be looking at throwing a little bit more art in the soap bar mix.
