Thursday Seeds | Give to the Fake

The object of artifice? It’s to sell something with a frame or narrative. It’s not a lie exactly, it’s the truth cloaked. It’s usually for a purpose and the best artifice is fiction story. You can tell the truth, the naked truth in fiction and folks will be ok with it. The naked truth as truth, it’s not well received.

The fake news and who will believe it? Are you a consumer? (We all are to some degree) But do you only take it in and never use it for benefit? Is it something you gossip about? Well meaning of course. What if it’s about you? And you KNOW it’s not true? But you just gossiped this same stuff about someone down the street… 

The fake news believed and effect. When fake news is believed, then perception is changed and if you are in a place of influence or worse, trying to sell something, yourself, then this is a bad place to be. Your stock is now low as it will go or your sales are in that same level, even as a small business or cottage business owner.

False Harmonics – isolate overtones. It’s not the Overt note one sets out to get at. It’s the one that arrises almost unintentional until it’s understood.  They are used to help tune a stringed instrument. They actually can be the Segue into a new understanding of music or a segue to another melody to keep the song going on longer than just one short tune.

Odd harmonics are considered edgier, deliberate and aggressive in sound. It has to do with odd numbers and fundamental frequencies. Are odd harmonics false? Some might say yes. Would they be right?

What about frequencies? It seems that colors and tones and air pressures all have them. Do we normalize the knowing of these important facts? Not yet. But packets of data fly by your head daily. Sometimes it is music, sometimes it’s spam emails and texts. 

“The third harmonic has a frequency that is three times that of the fundamental harmonic. This harmonic is extremely harmful. When the fundamental harmonic current reaches zero, the third harmonic current also reaches zero. As a result, it generates zero sequence current in the power system.”  _ What is third harmonic and which system?

We head into the Electrical side of physics now for the answer but there’s a neat idea here that could help us all:

“Power Harmonics in electrical systems refer to the distortion of a waveform that results from the presence of multiple frequencies in systems that utilize non-linear loads such as: battery chargers, personal computers, laser printers, variable speed motors & drives, and switch-mode power supplies. A load is said to be non-linear when the current does not have the same waveform as the supply voltage.”

Could this harm us if we don’t understand? Maybe. Remember that fake news about cellphones hurting you? Maybe this is where that came from?  

Ground yourself. Ever heard that? I’ve seen a series of sponsored posts in social media pop up ads for grounding mats to help with, of all things, varicose veins. They run in my family. My grandmother had them bad enough to decide not to go for surgery. Mom had them, not as bad. I have a few…nothing like them.

Is it BS? Maybe. Or there are some hidden truths here. And this subject is not as emotional as some of the other subjects that get labeled fake news. We still have to fact check and use one of my favorite questions:  What could it hurt?

Frequencies should be paid attention to. If you feel down, get the music on. Trust me, the false harmonics won’t be the harm if you don’t! It’s the rhetoric of false news that will!
