Repost: Dark Matter
Dark Matter

Here are a few quotes from articles circulating on the World Wide Web.
“Dark Matter is … invisible stuff that makes up the majority of the universe.”
{I don’t believe that for one minute. It isn’t the majority. It’s a little too broad a bucket, duh, it’s the universe! It’ll be proven, I predict.}
“It is the Standard Model of Particles that explains dark matter.”
“Its presence is [detected or] inferred based on its gravitational pull.”
“Standard model is only part of a wider framework to explain the universe.”
“Its some kind of material that has mass but doesn’t interact with light.”
There is DARK matter but also… There is Dark Energy.
The movement of brown fallen leaves on the concrete picked up one by one in the wind reveal a portion of its direction. We have even less on the Dark stuff, matter or energy.
A spark of anger at the sight or sound of an identified hot button could be a fallen leaf lifted within the swirl.
I don’t know where all of these opinions really come from but I have a few theories of my own about Dark Energy.
Dark Energy is unpredictable and arrives on the dot at the measurement of a clock.
There are a few things Dark Energy doesn’t like:
-Momentum unless propelled by “it”.
-Deep positive feelings: Love, Joy, Compassion and Gratitude all come to mind.
-Intense heat
-Memory
This stuff feeds on imbalance, extremes, and unrest. It hates equilibrium and yet loves that which seems like peace on the surface which would happen with Dark Matter intertwined to a superficial balance. Complacency.
Dark Matter lives between words. It waits there for the briefest of blasts of Dark Energy to penetrate or attach to. It is these times that Dark Energy enjoys momentum or is flicked off by the smallest of thumbs.
Dark Matter is lies; lies of any kind, no matter how small. Context is king though, what looks like a lie might not be and vice versa. Do you like my new hat? That small whisper that says, “Don’t forgive.”
Dark Matter is looking for something and its our job to find it FIRST!! We can’t afford to stay still.
What is that something?
Do you hear it?
It is on the tip of your tongue?
Is it the name of your [insert early grade] teacher?
Dark Energy loves to mess up filing cabinets or misplace important papers. It places them nonchalantly in the wrong folder or even the wrong drawer of the cabinet and yet there is no proof it was there.
Dark Energy adores superstition almost as much as prejudice. It would prefer for you to deny that it even exists.
But what of the contrast of dark to light? Is not a cool clean glass of water better after days of drinking mud? The light would not be as bright.
Is it our job to obliterate it?
Should we put our finger on it?
Are the burns and lack of breath worth a small glimpse? Only if remembered in all its many bearings.
Tattoo my forearm with specific numbers; write down my whole history; pull out my stack of skeletons from the closet. Let’s go through them with a fine toothed comb because Dark Energy doesn’t like it.
Its name whispered makes it itch. And as long as it doesn’t become an unbalanced obsession, it only gives irritation, obsession it would feed upon.
Dark Matter carries a seed that is dangerous if fed. Inside it is just enough Dark Energy to start a world war.
BANG!!!
A universe is born. I guess the wars will have to wait…
Do you hear that Dark Energy?
YOU must wait! I’m getting there first!
Past, present, and future.
