The beauty of learning new music and even new genres is that new ideas can arise from them. Not just musical ideas, but certain sounds can bring up memories of past times and also inspire new ones. What would it be that you would select to listen to while you look at those pictures that you took from the weekend?
The played tunes from the time of shots is one genre, but what if you are listening to another one while you do edits? Would it look different? Last night, I found saturation edits being more prevalent and I wonder if the kind of music that I was listening to mattered. May favorite shots were not the light ones but the dark backgrounds that highlight light of the bursts of spring that were the focus of most of the shots.
Did I need to get outdoors before the storm yesterday because of it? You bet I did! Here are a few that got got on Monday.
The playlists only go so long…unless you hoard songs all in one list. And in that case, the algorithm will take over and suggest songs. Are they all songs that you’ve heard and know? It depends on the kinds of playlists you have. Some playlists this can work on are just one song.
One song out of curiosity and you are in a different direction musically. (May it not be country music unless Johnny Cash or Patsy Cline because there is just so much twang a person can take.) oops. I said it.
I eluded in last week’s post regarding music that the hertz tuning of the instrument could change your receptivity to the music. 425hz is the same as Ohm and the earth. It’s not standard tuning. That would be 440hz. Why the difference? These are the things that get you to realize that we know so little and that we are affected a whole lot.
So what’s in your playlist? And why not switch it up?
Do you collect songs by theme? I’m partial to water. And so if there is a water theme to music by lyric or sound, it goes on a list. It’s sort of like sorting orders. Memories and important music gets sorted too. What’s in your life soundtrack? My predominant genre is folk music but there are others. I was stolen from heavy metal into folk music by local artists. And local artists are king and queen by the way. They need your support and when they make it big, you can say you knew them when.
Drivin and Cryin – Billy Pilgrim – Sugarland – Indigo Girls- Creed – Still Rain – Sevendust – Blair Crimmons – Michelle Malone – Shawn Mullins – Sound garden – Aviva and the flying penguins – Ralph Roddenberry Band …etc….etc….etc…just like the King and I.
I keep people and I keep playlists. They are like a snapshot in time of what I was on about and thinking at the time. But that’s not all, nope that’s not all. Do yourself a favor. Make your list.
