Thursday Seeds | The World is Your Oyster

How many times have you heard that idiom?  “The World is your Oyster”

But I don’t like oysters.

So if the world is something that I don’t want to eat then weight loss is no problem! Ha.

This is where I ramble on about how great things are. But am I really feeling it? I’m not.

And so what’s in your Oyster? When I peer into the thing, I’m hoping that it has as many pearl-like greens and blues as an abalone. It doesn’t. But there is some pearl to it. And if I fish around in the meat, there is the potential of probablity that there could be a pearl.

Have you ever been to an oyster fest? Buckets and buckets of Oyster shells everywhere. Most of them have been opened and fished through. Even if you don’t eat them, it’s a happening when the pearls are discovered. I can happily eat shrimp and watch friends crack open the shells and eat oysters in an “R” within the month. (February in this case).

Sounds fishy doesn’t it? Why am I there? I don’t like them!  But I am. Because I’m not there for those, I’m there for the people. The music. The pearls.

The pearl is not mine, she graciously let us enjoy her finds with her. Strangers standing together with a bucket of oysters…  Pearl creation needs a grain of sand where it shouldn’t be and pain. The metaphor is plenty. I’ll leave it at that.
