Choir Tradition
Sing a joyful noise unto the Lord,
Do it with feeling,
Drop the “R’s” and drop the jaw,
Remember the poignant words
That teach us all of His love,
Regardless of your seat in the sacred room.
Reverence, tone, inspiration, hard work,
Nothing but your best and a little bit more,
Prayers spoken, sung, whispered, thought,
On one side of an enriched colorful music filled experience.
Might we find some that need a cough drop,
That need a hug,
That need humor of gag?
Aren’t we all blessed to have those to raise our voices with?
We sit or stand with those that cover our booboo’s,
Those that breathe a staggered breath beside us.
Humor lights another side with personality,
Gifts of gag that might include such things as
Toilet seats, clown type shoes to fill, foil satellite dishes,
And Angel wings worn for additional fun and church funds.
Choir rookies united, how do we top such tradition of humor?
We don’t even try, we only offer up our own gifts,
In this case, handmade soap like grandma made,
For gentle cleansing or vigorous washing.
