Repost: More Offshore Oil Drilling Is A Stupid Idea

In Groovy Green’s blog post here, there’s discussion on offshore drilling being a stupid idea, hence the name of the post.

I’m in agreement with this author and you’ll note that this post was written at the beginning of September and now here we are, worried about our oil refineries that have endured Hurricane Ike.  Can you imagine the fears if offshore drilling were going on?

We need to change our mentality. We are not thinking creatively as a nation. I hope that we will wake up and get going soon…otherwise we will leave a huge mess for our sons and daughters.  We need to invest in renewable energy technologies.  Why can’t we harness the sun? or wind for that matter?  T. Boone Pickens has a plan…anyone else?  I cringe when the man says “drill, drill, drill” on his latest commercial but I am glad that he also says that it’s not going to help short term. We have to change our mentality and start thinking creatively. We CAN do it!
