Leave the Irreparable Past

Posted on Posted in Quotes

As we go forth into the coming year, let it not be in the haste of impetuous, unremembering delight, or with the flight of impulsive thoughtlessness, but with the patient power of knowing the the God of Israel will go before us. Our yesterdays present irreparable things to us; it is true that we have lost opportunities which will never return, but God can transform this destructive anxiety into a constructive thoughtfulness for the future. Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ.

Leave the Irreparable Past in His hands, and step out into the Irresistible Future with Him.

Scarred But Smarter – Drivin’ n Cryin’

Well I’m out of work

I’m out of hope

Of what should be of thee I spoke

Good times for the undeserved

Bad times for the ones who work

I said poor man, rich man, blind man, dead man

Hoped for more than they had all planned

Just then they suffered a serious blow

As the real world cut the line they hold

I said nobody said it would be fair

They warned you before you went out there

There’s always a chance to get restarted

To a new world, new life

Scarred but smarter

Is it right to wish the poor man rich

Is it right to wish the rich man poor

To hope all that’s well is fair ends fair

To wish thy neighbor’s life to despair

Being so mad that I start crying

No pay off for all my trying

To do it right – to never fail

Wishing for a fairy tale

Nobody said it would be fair

They warned me before I went out there

There’s always a chance to get restarted

To a new world, new life

Scarred but smarter

But when my life it turns all around

Jobs and things to do that I’ve found

I think how foolish I must have looked

To think I could be down for good

Nobody said it would be fair

But in the end I think it is

Karma, justice – whatever you call it

It’s really there – just keep looking for it

Nobody said it would be fair

But in the end I think it is

Karma, justice – whatever you call it

It’s really there – just keep looking for it

Nobody said it would be fair

But in the end I think it is

Karma, justice – whatever you call it

It’s really there – just keep looking for it

Nobody said it would be fair

They warned me before I went out there

There’s always a chance to get restarted

To a new world, new life

Scarred but smarter

Death by Catfish

Posted on Posted in Poem

Pathology report on a death,
Something is not right.
Pain where there was none yesterday.
Hurry catch those!

Hundreds swim at the bottom in clusters,
where they are going matters little,
I’m hungry!

Round them up junior,
I’ll help you,
never mind untraditional kind,
you take the port,
I have starboard.

A fete of a feast on tender meat,
but watch for these spines discovered,
They must be positioned just so,
watch me junior, one gulp.
Now it’s your turn,
Eat to your heart’s content.

Slow over time, a uncomfortable feeling
It nags in night’s resting time,
abates with first dawn.
Next day is the same,
And the next and the next.

Spines bury themselves,
Not where they belong,
Critical position,
bleeding in the depths,
not a drop in sight.

One day, one moment the nag turns darker,
Pain increases with each blowhole breath.
This is it junior, hope you paid attention.
The baton is yours, don’t waste it,
Live and love in the present moment.
Significant point in time.

Conscience

Posted on Posted in Quotes

Utmost Friday, May13, 2016

Conscience is that ability within me that attaches itself to the highest standard I know, and then continually reminds me of what that standard demands that I do. It is the eye of the soul which looks out either toward God or toward what we regard as the highest standard.

~Oswald Chambers

“Eye of the soul”…equal to third eye?

It might defy logic. It might look strange to the neighbors. Dare I strive for it?

Air’s Hot Pillar

Posted on Posted in Autobiographical

There are some changes going on. Are you the leaf or the spiral of movement? Which am I? Can I pick up steam where others are already headed? Can I hitch a ride on some of that hot air to get myself going even if our path’s connect only briefly? I want! Vocalize. Revolutionize with movement even iair's hot pillarf it doesn’t start out as your own. What week is it? Week 7. Remember those New Year’s Resolutions? I didn’t make a one! Maybe that was the trick. Some of those would be dead by now resolutions get a place to climb on hot air spiral like the raptors do for migration. Circling circling sometimes in search of food and other times it just seems like they are riding a wave. Well they are! It’s a pillar of hot air.

Let’s get on!

Who Wants…

Posted on Posted in Autobiographical

Who wants change just for change sake? I want deliberate change that furthers the purpose that isn’t exclusive to only one point of view.

Oh and would it be okay if we didn’t have them all piece meal as in a change here, a change there, everywhere a change change?

I don’t mean to be ungrateful because bug fixes are wonderful but what if we fixed one and caught the other two caused by the fix BEFORE we set it for download? Easier said than done. It means someone doing regression testing. Hard work and quality unite.
